She started her career, over 10 years ago, as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and is now a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Mya earned a master’s degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and possesses a wealth of experience gained from various clinical settings including, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, correctional psychiatry, case management, and working with veterans. Her extensive training and experience provide her with the "know-how" to help her clients in a compassionate and respectful manner.

 

Mya specializes in assessing, diagnosing and treating the mental health needs of clients with psychiatric medication and psychotherapy while encompassing a client’s spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being to provide a comprehensive and therapeutic approach.  Mya views partnering with clients as an absolute honor, and she is compassionate about exploring the challenges that individuals face and encouraging them to continue on this path called life.
