  • How is Path of Serenity different from other psychiatry offices?
At Path of Serenity we provide holistic care, taking into consideration and assessing the patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The client-provider relationship is considered to be a partnership; therefore, treatment options are not forced. Rather, evidenced based recommendations are suggested and are mutually agreed upon. We also realize there are barriers to accessing quality mental health care, therefore we continue to accept insurance, have weekend and evening availability, and conduct all visits via telehealth for convenience. Additionally, our follow-up appointments are 30 minutes in length, which is above the industry standard for offices that accept insurance!
  • How do I know if I should seek help for my mental health at Path of Serenity?
-Have you not been feeling like yourself lately or for a while? -Have you contemplated about speaking to a mental health professional, but have not been prioritizing your needs or feel anxious, afraid, or ashamed to speak to someone? -Have you no longer been able to participate in or enjoy previous enjoyable hobbies? -Has your work or school performance declined? -Have friends or family members made comments about your behavior or moods? -Have you had issues with sleeping? -Have you been staying to yourself more than normal? -Have you tried therapy but didn't feel that your symptoms had optimally improved? -Has your therapist recommended you seek treatment from a psychiatric medication management provider? -Have you been prescribed a regimen that isn't working or that you don't feel agreeable to? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, it may be time to take the next step in speaking with a professional! At Path of Serenity, we would be honored to connect with you to learn more about the struggles you have been facing so that we can work together to develop an individualized treatment plan to suit your needs.
  • Does your office see patients of all ages?
We currently see patients who are 18 years old and older.
  • What's the difference between the services you provide and that of a therapist/counselor?
Our provider is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) who specializes in the assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders. At Path of Serenity, conditions are managed with the use of psychiatric medication management along with solution-based psychotherapy. It is acceptable for a patient to see our provider and a therapist/counselor, if the patient is in need of more intensive therapy treatment modalities.
